The Special TET 2026 is an eligibility test conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj, for teachers working at Primary and Upper Primary levels, including Special Educators (CWSN).
The advertisement was released on 03.09.2026. Online registration and application started on 05.09.2026. The last date for fee payment is 04.10.2026, and the last date for application amendment is 08.10.2026. The examination is scheduled for 03.11.2026.
Teachers working in Primary and Upper Primary level schools are eligible. Special Educators (CWSN) at the Primary level need a Graduate degree with D.Ed. Special Education or equivalent from an RCI recognized institute, along with an active CRR number and RCI registration certificate. Special Educators (CWSN) at the Upper Primary level need a Graduate degree with B.Ed. Special Education or equivalent from an RCI recognized institute, along with an active CRR number and RCI registration certificate.
The application fee is Rs. 1000 for General, OBC, and EWS categories. For SC/ST candidates, the fee is Rs. 500. Persons with Disabilities (PwD) need to pay Rs. 300.
For contract/daily wage Special Educators, the maximum age limit is 60 years as of the examination date, 03.11.2026.
The exam will consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for 150 marks, with each question carrying 1 mark. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours and 30 minutes. There will be no negative marking. The subjects for the Primary Level include Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I (Hindi), Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit), Mathematics, and Environmental Studies, each with 30 questions and 30 marks.
General category candidates need to score a minimum of 60% (90 out of 150 marks) to qualify. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Freedom Fighter Dependent/Ex-Servicemen/PwD/EWS categories need to score a minimum of 55% (82 out of 150 marks).
Yes, if the examination is conducted in more than one shift due to a large number of applicants, a normalization process will be applied for comparative evaluation of scores.
