The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj, is conducting this recruitment.
There are a total of 1936 vacancies for Assistant Professor posts, including 1564 in co-educational colleges and 372 in women's colleges.
The salary for Assistant Professor is as per Pay Level-10, ranging from Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400 per month.
The advertisement was published on September 8, 2026. Online registration and application started on September 8, 2026. The last date to pay the online application fee is October 7, 2026, and the last date for online application amendment is October 11, 2026. The examination dates are November 19 and 20, 2026.
The application fee is Rs. 2,000 for General/Unreserved/OBC/EWS and others, Rs. 1,500 for SC/ST candidates, and Rs. 1,000 for Divyangjan (PwD) candidates.
The age will be calculated as of July 1, 2026. The superannuation age for the post is 62 years. Applications will not be accepted if the candidate is over 62 years old on July 1, 2026.
The selection process for Assistant Professor includes a Written Examination followed by an Interview.
Candidates must have a Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. Additionally, candidates must have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC or CSIR, or a similar test like SLET/SET accredited by UGC. Exemptions from NET/SLET/SET are provided for Ph.D. degree holders as per UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016, subject to specific conditions.
An opportunity to amend errors in the application form will be provided until the date specified by the Commission. However, changes in category, sub-category, date of birth, or gender will not be allowed after final submission.
