The Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2027 is scheduled for January 31, 2027.
Candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 200/-. This can be paid online using net banking, credit/debit cards, or UPI Payment.
The selection process for UPSC ESE 2027 consists of three stages: Stage-I (Preliminary Examination - Objective Type), Stage-II (Main Examination - Conventional Type), and Stage-III (Personality Test/Interview).
Yes, there will be a penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers in the objective type question papers of the Preliminary Examination. One-third (1/3rd) of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
The Preliminary Examination (Stage-I) consists of two objective type papers: Paper-I (General Studies and Engineering Aptitude) for 200 marks and Paper-II (Engineering Discipline Specific) for 300 marks, totaling 500 marks.
The Main Examination (Stage-II) consists of two conventional type papers in the Engineering Discipline Specific, each carrying 300 marks and having a duration of 3 hours. The papers must be answered in English.
The e-Admit Card for eligible candidates will be issued on the last working day of the preceding week of the examination date. It will be available for download on the Commission’s website https://upsconline.nic.in.
Candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to the Engineering Services Examination, 2027, as per guidelines mentioned in Appendix-II of the official rules. Specific measurements are not detailed in this notification.
The final ranking will be determined based on marks obtained in Stage-I (Preliminary - 500 marks), Stage-II (Main - 600 marks), and Stage-III (Personality Test/Interview - 200 marks), totaling 1300 marks.
