A total of 9124 vacancies are available for Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) in the clerical cadre. This includes 7680 regular vacancies and 1444 backlog vacancies across various States and Union Territories.

Candidates must be between 20 and 28 years of age as on April 1, 2026 (with age relaxations for reserved categories). Educational qualification requires a Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification as on December 31, 2026. Proficiency in the specified local language of the chosen State/UT is also mandatory.

The application fee is Nil for SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen (XS), and Disabled Ex-Servicemen (DXS) candidates. For General, OBC, and EWS candidates, the application fee is Rs. 750/-. This fee is non-refundable.

The selection process comprises three phases: Phase-I (Preliminary Examination), Phase-II (Main Examination), and Phase-III (Local Language Proficiency Test). The final merit list will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained in the Main Examination, subject to qualifying the local language test and document verification.

The Preliminary Examination is an online objective test of 1-hour duration, consisting of 100 questions for 100 marks. It has three sections: English Language (30 questions, 30 marks), Numerical Ability (35 questions, 35 marks), and Reasoning Ability (35 questions, 35 marks). There is a negative marking of 1/4th for each wrong answer.

The Main Examination is an online objective test of 2 hours and 40 minutes, with 190 questions for a total of 200 marks. It includes sections on General/Financial Awareness (50 Q, 50 M), General English (40 Q, 40 M), Quantitative Aptitude (50 Q, 50 M), and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude (50 Q, 60 M). A negative marking of 1/4th is applicable for incorrect answers.

The starting Basic Pay for an SBI Junior Associate is Rs. 26,730/- per month. The total starting emoluments for a Clerical Cadre employee posted in a metro city like Mumbai will be approximately Rs. 46,000/- per month, which includes Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances. The pay scale ranges from Rs. 24050 to Rs. 64480.

The Preliminary Examination for SBI Junior Associate is tentatively scheduled to be conducted in September 2026. The Main Examination is tentatively scheduled for November 2026.

There is no provision for Inter Circle Transfer or Inter State Transfer for Junior Associates before the completion of 5 years of service. After 5 years, transfer requests may be considered only in exceptional cases, such as Extreme Compassionate Ground or Spouse Ground, at the Bank's sole discretion and as per its prevailing transfer policy.
