A total of 22 vacancies have been announced for various posts through the HPAS Combined Competitive Examination 2026. This includes 4 for HPAS, 10 for Block Development Officer, 1 for District Controller, 1 for District Treasury Officer, and 6 for Tehsildar.
Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 35 years as on 01-01-2026. Age relaxations are applicable for reserved categories of Himachal Pradesh and government employees as per rules.
A uniform examination fee of Rs. 600/- is charged from all candidates, irrespective of their category. The fee is non-refundable.
The selection process consists of three stages: a Screening/Preliminary Examination, a Main Examination, and a Personality Test/Interview. Marks from the Preliminary Exam are for screening only and not counted for final merit.
The salary varies by post. For HPAS, it is Pay Band Level - 18 (Rs. 56100 - 177500). For Block Development Officer, it is Pay Band Level - 17 (Rs. 53600 - 170100). For District Controller and District Treasury Officer, it is Pay Band Level - 16 (Rs. 48700 - 154300). For Tehsildar, it is Pay Band Level - 13 (Rs. 46000 - 146500).
Yes, there is negative marking in the Preliminary Examination. For each wrong answer, one-third (1/3rd) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a recognized University. Candidates awaiting results or appearing for their final qualifying examination may also apply provisionally.
Yes, candidates from other states can apply. However, they will be treated as General Category candidates and will not be eligible for any reservation benefits applicable to bonafide residents of Himachal Pradesh.
