East Coast Railway has announced 1599 slots for the engagement of Act Apprentices for the year 2026-27.
Applicants must be between 15 and 24 years of age as on September 15, 2026. Age relaxations apply for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PwBD (10 years), and Ex-Servicemen (10 years + service rendered).
Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized Board and possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade, affiliated to NCVT/Academic certificate, as per the Apprentice Act 1961.
The application fee is ₹100/-. However, SC/ST/PwBD/Women applicants are exempted from paying the fee.
The selection process is based on a merit list prepared solely on the percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation (10th Class), followed by Document Verification and a Medical Fitness examination. There will be no written test or viva.
No, Engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible to apply under this notification as they fall under a separate apprenticeship scheme.
Selected candidates engaged as apprentices will be paid a monthly stipend at the prescribed rate during the training period, as per the extant rules and directives issued by the Railway Board from time to time.

Upload legible scanned copies of Matriculation mark sheet/pass certificate, proof of date of birth, ITI consolidated mark sheet/certificate, and relevant caste/EWS/disability/Ex-Servicemen certificates.
Pay the non-refundable application fee of ₹100/- online, unless exempted (SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates are exempted).
Submit only one application per trade; multiple applications will lead to rejection.
